Wherever I go, a lot of people keep asking me about the story behind “Kaaket Setti”, especially when they hear the word “Setti”, which means my grandmother, in the name of this product. Since my childhood, I have been spending time in my great-grandmother’s kitchen, enjoying the best-smelling food on earth and eating satisfying but healthy food all day long. My great-grandmother was one of a kind. She was known for her kindness, humor, beautiful spirit, caring, and generosity, especially to those she saw in need anywhere. Furthermore, she was certainly a great cook. She used to work hard to enjoy the family meal on Sundays because she believed that when the food is delicious on the table, the conversation and stories will be good and beautiful. “Kaaket Setti” is one of these treasured recipes cooked by my great-grandmother each year during Easter holidays and delivered in boxes to family members, neighbors, and even those in need. This recipe fed not only stomachs but also souls. When my great-grandmother got extremely sick, I promised her to work hard and let the whole world remember her through her delicious recipes because I was so lucky to have such a great-grandmother, who played an important role in my life. She was a parent, a teacher, and a friend. People die, but memories don’t. Her memory will never die with every single bite of these flavorsome “kaaks”. With the encouragement of my family and friends, I started cooking her recipes and started my own business "P_by_Parthenios" on October 10, 2020. I chose “Kaak” as my main product because this recipe was so special to my great-grandmother, and I hope it makes her proud, knowing that she’s watching over me from heaven.
